Can't resist the temptation!! I just had to do a post on Marc jacobs' Fall/Winter 2010-2011 for Louis Vuitton @ Paris Fashion Week, March 10, 2010!!
It was like an incredibly French-ified episode of
Mad Men.
As usual, Paris Fashion "Week" (it's much longer than a week!) was PACKED with the biggest names in fashion... if only my full time job was to report all these lovely shows...I can't keep up!
There were great highlights such as the small yet extraordinary collection by the late Alexander McQueen, Chanel's 'snice' (snow+ice) centerpiece right in the middle of the runway featuring some spectacular fur pieces, and Lanvin was as beautiful as expected with models trickling down a spiral staircase. But, I must say, yesterday, Louis Vuitton's "fountain show" did it for me.
Some might have found it boring, but the classy, and the revistied classic elegance of Audrey Hepburn, and Grace Kelly made me flutter and tingle with glee inside! As Marc Jacobs said of the collection, he wanted to convey the "qualities, intrinsic value and joy of being a woman". His selection of models had the busty hourglass physique reminiscent of Brigitte Bardot, which is seldom found on the runways today.
The elegant collection also acted as a lovely compliment to the classic flat-bow pump in variations of materials and colours, as well as an array of beautiful variations of the Speedy that was originally designed in the 1930s.
Louis Vuitton's F/W 2010-2011 collection at the Paris Fashion week really called to my obsession with everything Classic Hollywood, 1940s, 1950s, 1960s!
I wish I was born several decades earlier, just for the fashion, films, and music.
Alrighty! Better get back to studying!
XOXO
p.s. Marc looked rather dashing :)
p.s.s. I do apologize for the jumbled layout - it's fixed now!
Below is a gallery of a selection of looks that I really loved from the show!

What to expect from Eva Fancies the coming month...
I would like to take this opportunity to tell you all that there will not be vigorous (leisure) blogging for the coming weeks. I am reaching the end of my University career, therefore the coming month will be packed with final assignments and exams. I need to concentrate on the last and final stretch, and give it my all!
Don't fret! I won't be vanishing completely.
Since whenever I am studying I wish I was blogging, as a result, I always end up getting into the trouble of muddled priorities.
So, I have decided to post my study notes here.
I promise you it won't be boring, and it will still be relevant to the themes of my blog.
Here is a brief overview of what will be covered:
So here we are!
Good luck to everyone who is graduating this June!
To the Class of 2010!
XOXO
